Oh god yeah.

That was great fun. I did a massive long straight followed by a H-U-G-E jump and then back again.

Another cool thing to do was make lots of annoying thin ledges with gaps on either side and watch people scream in agony as they fell to thier death for the 100000th time :P
Micro Machines 96 had a great map editor too, that was pretty cool but they didnt really let you have any cool stunt things that actually appeared in the game.

Those were the days my friend

I think Ive been through this before actually. Check the archives for my " £5 is too much for a game " stroy :P
Poo

Dizzy was fun, in a "£2.99 from WH Smiths at the age of 6" kind of way. When I was 5 I thought Dizzy was the ultimate video games character.

Then my older brother told me about a game called Sonic the Hedgehog...
Mapping levels

Anyone remember the Dizzy games ?

It seems tottaly stupid now but my brother must have been really into them. He made maps of 3 of the games , showing items and stuff aswell as little tips at difficult bits

They were very well done.
Debug Mode

Thats what got me into the game designing idea, Sonic 1,2&3's debug mode was great I even went to the trouble of drawing up entire levels for a platform game. Ahh the memories :D

If you used carefull planning you can make a level just as good (dare I say better) than the ones in the game.

Worldcraft

Thats the name of the Half-Life level editor.

I was working on a map trying to show off all my skills , but got bored.

Its quite easy to use really , textures can be a problem as can scripted sequences but you get the hang of it.

I cant get into the Unreal Editor at all. Dont understand any of it
If all goes to plan... creative heaven!

I urge anyone with Half-Life/Unreal Tournament to intall the level editors and just mess with it. Try to create a level at least, and then see where it goes. Maybe we could produce amazing levels unseen before and show what we want, huh?

Basically I am doing this to get preperred for the Unreal 2 editor, because that game looks amazing, and I can't wait to reproduce such magnificance.

End.

Phew

Youve officially broken the silence, nice one :)
I really need to get designing on my own blog and especially the site.
Monday I officially quit my old job at the flower shop....so now I'll have a bit more time on my hands. I'll be just working the one (full-time)job. However, I am also taking an on-line course (to aid in obtaining an ITF certificate). I will try to get this blog going again and hopefully you guys will join in once again.

SEPT 11, 2001

The mind-numbing events of today has put the world on hold...including blogs. Nothing will probably be posted here until next week. Feel free to drop by then.

Well....a while ago I bought a memory card for PSX so that everytime we rent PSX games we can same our progress between rentings. So....no....I hardly doubt I can finish FF7 in a week (especially with other games to play) but I'll save my progress so that the next time I start where I left off.

If is wasn't for Dino Crisis 2...I'd lean towards renting a PS2 . Blockbuster doesn't have American 18 Wheeler yet! Augh! That would be another factor in favour of PS2 (Blockbuster ditched DC line...so I never even got to rent 18-Wheeler for DC...that's why I'd like to try it on PS2). A Knight's Tale is available for DVD....I liked that movie! So there's a plus. Also I'd be curious to watch the Pitch Black on DVD. So...I don't know what to pick....but I'll pick something for sure since my Mom is buying!!

Yes, get a PS2 with something like GT3, Onimusha, Red Faction and Zone of the Enders (for the MGS2 demo of course). An original PlayStation would be ok but can you really get through Final Fantasy VII in a week?
That would explain it.
I'd get a mix of games and DVD's (but thats just me) it would give some good insight into the PS2 for you. It is a shame that GC and X-Box arn't out yet but I don't have any money at the momment so I suppose thats good :\
Something about Nintendo that I like it's not really that similar to Sega or Sony, it's like a class of it's own
Sorry...guys...but I've been like working 62 hours a week and have little spare time. But as of Sept 17, I'll have officially quit the flower shop and I will carry on with my new job (just 40 hours a week). So by the end of Sept. I'll be back...hopefully.

Since I've been working so much and never got to have a vacation this summer (or last summer) my Mom promised me in front of witnesses that she was going to pay for one week's rental of a game console with 4 games for the end of Sept.! ALRIGHT! I haven't decided whether I should rent PS2 and rent games like Dragon's Lair, Shadows of Destiny, GT3, and American 18 Wheeler (or DVD's maybe). Or should I rent PSX and continue playing Dino Crisis 2 , FF7, and so on. Too bad GC and X-box aren't out yet!

What do you guys suggest?

One reason why my ideas dried up is that I don't think my story would make an ultimate game after all. Although , Angelia (half human/half butterfly) character was one of my main character in my story...though.

Well I dont know why SC has gone quiet but Angels too busy to even come to her own blog. Poor gal

Anyone ever play multiplayer Sat Bomberman ? Excellent fun with some m8s
Goldeneye is good aswell
Deary me...

This blog seems to have all but dried up. What happened to the innovative ideas? The creative geniuses placed on this blog, for a reason? To say what would be best for our games! To say what kind of games we would like! And what we want to see in these games!

Come on kids, it can't end on a creative block. I maybe not putting any ideas forward, but at least I'm trying to tell you. Go on.
Everywhere has gone all quiet SClobby, forum and now Angels blog.
Group games are fun (IF you can get 3 other mates and they don't just say "I didn't know about it" when the occassion arises)
Funny thing is even the most crappy games can have a fairly good multiplayer (Bomberman 64), it's you and your friends that make it fun.
