Game Watch: New Mortal Kombat
Ok, I played this game and felt something. Midway haven't got it right yet, and I feel it may be a while before doing so. The game has changed it's direction in the form of basic attacking in the game, where each character has three fighting forms each - two different fighting forms and one weapon fighting form, with 20-odd moves for each style. Unfortunetely, the execution is rather lame. By merely pressing one button (for the Game Cube, it's 'L'), the character will switch fighting stance. However, I find huge fault with this, as it makes each of the styles seem completely different to one another. I would've preferred each character to have one fighting form, since in this the characters only have basic moves for each form. The game still uses a guard button, but it's executed wrongly AGAIN, as this button isn't used effectively at all. In Virtua Fighter, it's used for defensive attacks. In this, it blocks. Very poor. The old faults are still available (no character staying on floor, poorly executed throws, ridiculously hard to remember combos et cetera) and the game suffers for it. Oh, and it stills uses 'K' in place of 'C'. I give this game 4/10.

Chop Suey
Well, I don't actually care that this site is only irregularly updated by two people anymore. It's something, at least. Today's comment: Super Mario Sunshine! What a fine game that is! The idea of removing graffiti doesn't initially seem appealing, but 'tis great fun. If I had a Gamecube, I'd try and get one as soon as I can. But I can't; so I bought Fire Pro Wrestling D on import instead. And now I need a new television. Bollocks...

PES !!
I was reading this months Gamesmaster and they kept mention Pes 2 and I didnt have a clue what they were on about.
Konami's PES series have always been much better than FIFA , even without real player names but I take it PES2 has them.
Ah football games , where even Scotland can get to the World Cup. Actually weve made it before but not past the 1st round :(
Im not a big fan of football but a footy game will last , or at least I find they do. Ill start Season mode , play for an hour or so , come back in a week , play for another hour or so.
It will take me a whole football season to finish one year of FIFA 2000.
Anyone heard of Red Card Soccer ? Apparntly its going to be sort of like those NHL games were you can get into fisticuffs with other players , that was always much more fun than skating around trying to score IMO.

Here we go again.
After pur-chasing a second hand Dreamcast(nowt wrong with it, for £30. Happee), I had to wander into the local independent games emporium. And what was playing? Winning Eleven 6, or Pro Evolution Soccer 2 if it ever comes here. Aside from the topless guy on the cover(what were Konami thinkin'?), the beautiful game seems more beautiful than ever. Liverpool FC are now good, as Michael Owen is(rightly so) one of the best players there. The newer game seems more fluent, with more sexy moves on and off the ball, offering more control to the players. The game is notably better, and I will be buying it when it comes to our shores! In about 6 months...b'hoo.

My brother finally got his Gameboy Advance and his first game is Sonic Advance. However, I have not been able to get near it....(grrrr...) Oh well, I'll let him off the hook for now, as I have been busy anyway. When I do have a bit of time....I've been under the weather.
I too have not been impressed with any of the new consoles thus far or the majority of their games. However, isn't this the way it is for at least the first year when a console launches? Usually it isn't until the 2nd year that the good games (if any) are revealed. Anyway...As far as I'm concerned...my money is staying in my pocket for a little while longer. Oh....wait! What am I talking about!? What money?

Why did I get a PlayStation 2?!?
* - you should see this article as some sort of 'angry rant', one which shows people 'the other side' to a certain situation.
Oh God. The games industry is just rubbish now. 'But look at all those games coming out!' They cry. Sorry, but Sega were always the best games company, as they have a huge list of innovation in games. And because they've gone everywhere, I don't know what to do. Here's a brief:
-The PS2 is rubbish. Yes, I know games like GTAIII, DMC and Pro Evolution Soccer have recently come out, but...where's the heart?!? I got Klonoa 2. That had heart, but it was way to short. Lovely graphics. That and Freak Out, which is quite slow and confusing. And apart from Timesplitters 2 and VF4(both sequels), there is little to look forward to that has a soul. Apart from Soul Calibur 2.
-The X-Box is poor. Halo is just rubbish(I don't care about what you can do - it's far too non-linear, so you spend ages looking for action), the Star Wars game is a rehash. I await JSRF, but I don't want to spend £300 on a huge radiator of a console. The only games that seem good and original for it are by Sega.
-The Gamecube...lacks. No game but Super Monkey Ball has impressed me on it. Good games again by Sega?
This Dreamcast defunct-o thing has really been bad. No Sega console means no nice. Boo hoo.

Ex-Box
Well, I got to play the X-Box properly. To be frankly honest...the games weren't exactly amazing. Halo, regardless of being quite overwhelming, feels like some sort of extended version of Turok:Dinosaur Hunter. Which was very tedious. I played DOA3. Wow! Amazing! It looks really nice! It's got new moves! New characters! Still pretty much the same as the second game. Oh. It looks nice.
The pads flippin' huge as well...as is the console. I should wait for Jet Set Radio Future, then I'll pass greater judgement.

It WAS funny
Alright, Digitiser is now a steaming pile of cack. Opinion is diverse for before it lost every bit of credibility - now, it is updated 3 times a week, not 6; it's lost all contact with three gaming journos(controversial Stuart Campbell, opinionated Tony Mott and 'Bad Influence' Violet Berlin); it thinks it's funny to have a crack at minorities and not majorities('I know, let's have ANOTHER dig at rock fans'); judges most games on the hype they receive - if a game has had no hype, it won't get a great mark. Frankly, it's now just another poor PlayStation2 mag in a thin dress. Well, it was funny.

digi is toss, do-you-see?
Sorry I'm a bit late on the topical front, but I gave up on Digitiser years ago. It isn't funny. They talk crap constantly, they’re practically the dictionary definition of ‘hypocritical’, and their reviews are just silly. The die hard fans claim it's still good because it's parodying conventional magazines, but that's just an attempt to hide the truth...Digitiser is just plain bad. The restricted format is no excuse either - bad journalism can't be passed off because it's Teletext. Digitiser had it's benefits pre-internet, but I really can't understand how anyone sane would subject themselves to such rubbish anymore...

WWTBAM?2
Your joking right ? Shenmue 2 is much better than that.
MGS2
Did anyone enter that competition to have your name in the game ? You just gave your name and stuff and if you won it would be on one of the enemy soldiers dog tags.
That would be cool to have your name in a game like MGS2
Dino Planet
Oh yeah , stupid me , thats the new Starfox game , it looks wicked.

Bilge
Digitser used to be good. Now it sees it fit to become what it hated; changing the staff, losing anything humorous, giving 'trendy' games high marks (rating WWTBAM?2 above Shenmue II) and just plainly sucking. I don't know why I still read the damn thing.
Tasty
Hooray! Because we in Britain have to wait longer than America to get MGS2, we get some sort of cool limited edition version. I can't understand why Australia have Wipeout Fusion before us, though...

First post in ages
As it is. Dinosaur Planet looks faaantastic! I thought that English companies were getting crap at making games, with only racing games coming from here. But mighty Rareware have proven me wrong! Sure, Digitiser (teletext-based thing) got really annoyed as they thought of the name (apparently), but this is bloody furry great stuff.
